One of the most beautiful things about the Harrison Center is that it breads collaboration.  After sharing with a group about The Scarf an artist who had over heard the story invited me to work with him on a beer bottle project... Of course I jumped at the opportunity!

After fellowshipping with a Redeemer church plant in the Indy area Berenice and I spent a girly afternoon shopping and getting our nails done.  This was one of rituals while I was in Perth, it was nurturing for both of us to revisit it.

 

And then I crashed a prom! Two first for me, my first artificial set of nails and my first prom.

This is embarrassing... I can not for the life of me remember what I did on Friday the 19th!  There are no notes in my journal and no pictures on my phone to give me clues.  Forgive my slackness please.

Here are just a few of the sights around Bloomington, IN.  A friend and fellow artist who is working on his MFA at Indiana University invited Berenice and I to come spend a day at the school meeting art students, critiquing and giving studio visits.  I was surprised how comfortably I could slip back into academia.

More making time today.  At Harrison Center for the Arts there is a gallery/office/lounge space.  It has been a nice place to sit and draw, knit, have tea, talk about art and faith and life, and deepen relationships with new friends.

I'm staying in the home of a couple I met here in Indy for a few nights while they're out of town.  Being all alone in a space has been great for my introvert self.  Even though Kyle and Cindy have only known me a little while the offering of their home and the ample stock of tea show they know me and are loving me incredibly  well.

DAY OFF!!!!!!!

Spent some time with my hosts, at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and dinner with sweet new friends.  My heart is rested, happy, and full.

In addition to the the beautiful sari yarn I received I've been given several knitted pieces.  

Those lovely people and lovely individuals began to be knitted into The Scarf today.

I moved out of the Spring Hill Suits that had graciously housed me til now and I got to move in with this lovely creature.  I'm sure we will be very happy together.

I received a gift today.  Well, the scarf did actually.  

Mariam saw the scarf on Friday and brought this beautiful yarn to me today.

Today's picture isn't exactly from today.  It's from Friday evening at the opening at Harrison Center for the Arts.  The woman pictured with me is Joy, she lives here in Indy and was very interested in the scarf and supporting it's journey.  She sent me this picture today and we're meeting for coffee later this week.

For my day off there wasn't as much of this as I would have liked.  Great day none the less with homemade brunch, Trader Joe's shopping trip, and a team dinner with some of my favorite people.  To bed early I think.

Sorry I'm late in posting day 4.  Yesterday started before 8:00am and went til after midnight.  Oy!  It was long but productive day of installation, relationships, and planning.

Road trip 1, Day 3

After a long day of installing artwork, running errands, and climbing up and down the tallest ladder I've ever seen I'm sitting in my hotel room working on my artist statements.  This is my least favorite part of being an artist.  When I finish I'm going to reward myself with gummie bears.

Got a tour of Harrison Center for the Arts and the Redeemer PCA, Indianapolis sanctuary today.  

This was lingering in the sanctuary from Easter morning.

Made it to Indy safe and sound.  Have an amazing view from my hotel.  I'm excited to see Steve and Berenice tonight and to get to work tomorrow morning!
